Using the softphone

 

The softphone is located in the user interface’s middle part and it is used for handling phone calls.

Softphone buttons

The softphone buttons are:

  1. Call button starts the call.

  2. Speaker mute mutes your speaker.

  3. Microphone mute mutes your microphone.

  4. Classification opens call classification window.

  5. Send SMS opens SMS sending window.

  6. Show keypad for inputting a number to call.

My display number

Depending on the user rights, you can choose your display number, which the receiver will see. All numbers which are connected to your profile, can be found in the dropdown menu. Select a number you like to be shown, when calling.

Calling

You can call by typing a phone number in the search field at top or type to find contact. You can also use keypad to enter a number to call.

Ongoing call

While in an ongoing call, following functions are available:

  1. Participant’s photo, name and number (there can be several options in the field)

  2. Note for the call field can be used to enter a short text note about the call. This note is used to easily label calls when they are put on hold or parked. Such calls are easier to identify when they are taken back. Note text is not saved when call ends.

  3. Hold call button puts the call on hold.

  4. Move to park button parks the call. There can be three simultaneously parked calls. This feature requires switchboard license.

  5. Transfer call to number button opens keypad to enter a number where the call will be transferred.

  6. Transfer to paused can be used when you have two calls: one active and one on hold. This button transfers the active call to the call that is on hold.

  7. Hang up button ends the call.

  8. Jabra text indicates that you have Jabra support enabled and can use Jabra specific headset functions during the call. This also indicates that the call can be controlled with Jabra buttons.

Call classification

Click on the Classification button:

Then fill the classification information. The specific information to be classified depends on the organization’s needs. Classification schemas can be created and managed by the supervisor.

Fill in the classification information with the appropriate buttons. You can write comments in the Comment field. Click the Save button to save the changes.

Click Send SMS button:

You can select Source number which will be displayed to the recipient as sender. Then you can enter Destination number and a Message:

SMS messages can also be sent to directory contacts from Directory.
