SMS sending

SMS messages can be sent to a directory contact, call history number or any given number. SMS sending requires specific permissions for the user.

Directory contact has SMS button next to contact’s mobile number.

Call history has SMS button for each call item that has been identified as a mobile number (as a contact in your contacts):

Keypad has an option for both calling and sending SMS:

Selecting SMS from any of the above views opens up Send SMS view:

You can change the sending number from drop-down. Selected number will be displayed for the SMS recipient as the sender. You could use, for example, your phone number or a service pool number.

SMS message can be up to 800 characters long. Special characters and some regional formats may consume more characters per written symbol.

Clicking Send SMS button sends the SMS message and a successful sending is displayed:

Please note: Sent SMS messages cannot be viewed since Voice for Browser doesn’t retain a history of sent messages. Also, it’s not possible to view received SMS messages. Voice for Browser functions as a one-way sending tool for SMS messages.
