With pool groups, any number of pool groups can be created and pools grouped under them. Groups could be created for example per business unit or area. This allows the users to see which pools belong to which group and therefore offers a more logical structure to pools. Pool group functionality, the system administrator can group the service pools into logical setsgroups can also be minimized to hide the pools that are not needed and making the pool list easier to handle. Each pool group displays the group name and pools under it.

This makes it easier to be active in several groups with just one click. Users can still activate themselves also in selected service pools.

Users’ activity is managed by selecting the needed check boxes. This does not manage the user’s service pool membership, but only the activity i.e. is the person active or not. The user’s activity changes according to selection in all service pools, which are members of the selected service pool group. If a service pool is a member in several service pool groups and selected as active in one group, is the group active in all service pool

A service pool can belong to multiple groups. If pool is activated in one group, it is also active in all other groups where the pool is a member.

The service pools also can be opened in a separate window by clicking the arrow icon, when it is possible to change the window size and location.

Managing groups

Please note: Pool groups are not personal. They are shared across the whole organization. Any changes to groups are immediately visible to all users of the organization.

Creating a new service pool group:

  1. Open the Pool groups window from File menu

  2. Start grouping by clicking the New group button

  3. Give a name for the group

  4. Select the service pools

  5. Click the Create button to create the new group

Also note:

  • Service pools can be a member members in several groups at the same time

  • A group can also be empty and then it is not displayed to the users

  • Deleting a group removes the group and the service pools of that group are now ungrouped

  • The groups can be edited after creating by clicking on the group’s name

If a pool doesn’t belong to any group then it’s listed under the group Ungrouped.
